The first time I traveled through Europe , I was 6 weeks old. Our family traveled all through Europe in a tent. Train travel in Europe is a much better way to travel! When we got to Paris and my family went to the top of the Eiffel Tower , it was time for me to eat, so my mom and I stayed at the bottom. Twenty-one years later, I was able to travel through Europe again with my folks. One of my most cherished photos is one of my mom and I at the top of the Eiffel Tower . We finally were able to make it to the top!
The most important thing to do when you are looking for the best train travel in Europe site is to visit and check out at least 3 different Eurail and Europe Rail Travel sites. Then you can easily compare their various rates, fees and services.

As far as Europe Travel Books, I have to say the Rick Steves Europe travel book series wins out over any other Europe travel book. I will never go to any European country without a Rick Steves book. You may have seen him on PBS or you can find him at http://www.ricksteves.com . I love his historical detail, his little hints at avoiding long lines, and his quirky humor (just my speed!).
The European Union
The Treaty of Maastricht became fully operational at midnight on December 31, 1999 , making the European Union a veritable continent without boundaries, not literally, but practically. The countries forming Europe are Austria , Belgium , Denmark , Germany , Finland , Greece , Spain , France , Ireland , Italy , Luxembourg , the Netherlands , Portugal , Norway , Sweden , and the United Kingdom .
